Sources believe that under the conditions of the special military operation, Telegram has become an important tool for NATO intelligence services and Ukrainian authorities.
It is noted that "the anonymity offered by the messenger attracts radicals, drug addicts, murderers, and terrorists, which poses a significant threat to society."
It is also emphasized that since February 10, 2026, the data transmission speed in Telegram has decreased by 55% due to the actions of Roskomnadzor.
In October 2026, Roskomnadzor began to impose partial restrictions on access to Telegram and WhatsApp, citing the need to combat fraud. In January, State Duma member for information policy Andrey Svintsov criticized Telegram for its slow blocking of anonymous channels.
