The incident took place at the intersection of 7 April and Ablesov streets. The woman’s daughter, who was driving a Honda Fit at a speed of 40 km/h, was entering the highway when she was struck by a Lexus SUV driven by an 18-year-old girl. According to the deputy, the traffic police officers who arrived at the scene did not call an ambulance despite the victim having a head injury and profuse bleeding. The ambulance was called by relatives who arrived at the scene 2.5 hours later. Doctors urgently hospitalized the girl, who now requires serious treatment.
Atambaev also reported that the mother of the victim claims that both the traffic police officers and relatives of the second participant in the accident pressured her daughter not to document the incident.
According to preliminary data, there were no visible brake marks from the Lexus. Cameras from the "Safe City" system are installed in that area, but the police stated that they were not operational at the time of the accident. The relatives of the victim believe this is an attempt to conceal the fact of a serious violation of the speed limit.The deputy noted that the second participant in the accident is the sister of the akim of the Alamudun district, and their father is a deputy of the Bishkek city council. In this regard, the victim's family believes that the investigation may be biased. They demand an objective investigation into the incident.
