It is noted that on February 5, M. T., born in 1998, reported domestic violence to the Lenin District Police Department in Bishkek. She stated that on October 15 of last year, her husband brutally beat her and expelled her from their home in the Bakai-Ata district, after dousing her with gasoline and setting her on fire.
Despite suffering severe burns, the woman did not report the incident immediately.
On the day of the incident, a fire was indeed registered at the specified house.
Witnesses claimed that the fire occurred due to careless handling of gasoline while trying to light a stove, which resulted in injuries to both.
M. T. and D. Zh. were urgently hospitalized; however, it was not possible to interrogate them immediately due to their serious injuries.
The woman only filed a report about the domestic violence on February 5, stating that her husband acted intentionally.
The case is currently under investigation, the suspect D. Zh. has been detained and placed in custody. A criminal case has been initiated against him under the article "Causing serious harm to health" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Additionally, messages about this case have started to appear on social media, drawing further attention to the issue of domestic violence.
