He noted that among the victims of traffic accidents were his own relatives.
“I lost three close ones. This is not just an accident — these are three lives. In 2006, my family experienced a terrible tragedy: drunk drivers crossed into oncoming traffic. In a 'Moskvich,' they crashed into our car, and it overturned. My younger brother and sister-in-law died on the spot. Four children were left orphaned; they sustained various injuries, but thank God, all survived and have now grown up and started their own families,” Japarov recounted.
In 2019, his eldest son also became a victim of an accident. According to the president, the incident occurred because the driver possibly did not know the rules or intentionally violated them. He attempted to overtake on a double solid line and hit Japarov's son, who flipped over after the collision and died.
The traffic accident that resulted in the death of Dastan Sadyr uulu occurred on August 22, 2019, in the village of Kok-Jar, which was then part of the Alamudun district.
Dastan was riding a motorcycle and was traveling along 7 April Street. Around 10:25 PM, he collided with a Toyota Matrix. As a result of the impact, he was thrown and crashed into a Lexus 330.
The young man fell into a coma and, unfortunately, passed away on August 26 without regaining consciousness. At that time, it was reported that the driver of the Toyota was at fault for the accident. Sadyr Japarov forgave him.
