Nurgazy Doolotov, head of road enterprise No. 41, stated that the road closure could last from 10 days to two weeks. This is due to the possibility of further rockslides from the slopes.
Currently, the enterprise staff is monitoring the condition of the mountain slope.
There is also a threat of snow avalanches at the 39th kilometer of the Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart highway, in the Kara-Unkur gorge. Due to rising temperatures, small spontaneous snow slides are observed in some areas.
Drivers are strongly advised to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters and to follow traffic rules.
