Four banks were involved in large operations of droppers
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, member of the board of the National Bank Sanjar Abylgaziev discussed current issues related to internet and banking fraud.
He noted that large operations of droppers were conducted through four banks, among which Optima Bank holds the first place.
According to him, about 60% of all cases of dropping are related to young people.
"The most vulnerable group is young people aged 18 to 25. There are also registered cases where individuals under 18 are involved in such schemes," he added.
Abylgaziev reminded about a special resolution adopted in 2025, according to which banks committed to strengthen measures to combat fraud.
He emphasized that relevant measures are already beginning to be implemented.
In addition, the National Bank is studying international experience to implement the most effective practices in the fight against fraudsters.
He also noted that fraudsters are constantly developing new schemes, which complicates adaptation and counteraction to these threats.
