Student from India deceived compatriots out of 3 million soms in the city of Osh

In the city of Osh, an Indian citizen has been detained on suspicion of large-scale fraud. This was reported by the press service of the local internal affairs department.

According to the police information, during the operation "Illegal," officers involved in combating extremism and illegal migration detained a student born in 2002. She has been placed in a temporary detention facility.

It was revealed that the detainee was studying at one of the universities in Osh and was offering her compatriots services to exchange Indian rupees for US dollars. However, after receiving the money, she did not fulfill her promises.

Currently, nine victims have approached law enforcement agencies. According to them, the amount of damage ranges from 35,000 to 243,000 soms, and the total amount of losses exceeds 3 million soms.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
