Owner of a medical center in Bishkek illegally stored and sold psychotropic substances

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs combating illegal drug trafficking conducted an investigation, revealing facts of illegal storage, use, and sale of psychotropic substances at the "Dem-Nur" medical center in Bishkek.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the 68-year-old owner of the center, O.Sh., was treating patients with drug and alcohol dependencies without the appropriate license. Moreover, he was engaged in the illegal storage, use, and distribution of psychotropic drugs.

During a search of the medical facility, 18 ampoules of psychotropic substances were seized, as well as over 600 ampoules and 16 packages of various medications. During a search at O.Sh.'s residence, narcotic substances were also found, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs statement.

In connection with the incident, the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic initiated a criminal case under Article 282 of the Criminal Code, concerning the illegal production of drugs and psychotropic substances for the purpose of their distribution.

The suspect O.Sh. was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.

Currently, additional measures are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in this crime.
