In Bishkek, employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) closed an illegal rehabilitation center called "Path to Life." The establishment, which posed as a medical institution for treating addiction, actually became a place of cruel treatment of patients, as reported by the agency's press service.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the center operated with serious violations of the law. Medical functions were performed by individuals who had previously suffered from addictions and lacked medical education and licenses. Instead of qualified assistance, they conducted dubious "pseudo-psychiatric" procedures.
Extremely cruel methods were used to "subdue" patients:

Moreover, this center completely ignored medical safety standards. Patients with serious infections, such as HIV, tuberculosis, syphilis, and hepatitis, were housed in the same rooms as others, creating a risk of mass infection.
The cost of a month of "rehabilitation" reached 80,000 soms or more. Relatives of the patients were unaware of the cruel methods their loved ones were subjected to. During searches, evidence was found of the involvement of current medical workers in this scheme.

Eight suspects were placed in the temporary detention facility of the capital's Department of Internal Affairs.
- The GKNB urges anyone who has suffered from the actions of the center's staff to contact the duty service of the state committee for the Chuy region at the phone number: 0312530301.
