The detention of law enforcement officers occurred at the initiative of the GKNB employees
A serious incident took place in the Uzgen district: local police officers beat two citizens. This information was announced at a press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
On January 3, employees of the Uzgen District Department of Internal Affairs illegally detained two individuals, who were then taken to the Kurshab Police Station. During the investigation, it was revealed that the detainees were subjected to beating. One of them sustained a serious traumatic brain injury with brain swelling and contusion.
Based on this fact, the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region initiated a criminal case under Articles 130 part 3 point 2 ("Causing serious harm to health") and 338 part 2 point 4 ("Abuse of power") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Three police officers — S.H., I.u.K., and A.A. — were placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
The GKNB urges citizens not to remain indifferent and to contact the relevant authorities regarding abuses of power.
