The Ministry of Natural Resources announced a competition for the cleanest settlements in Kyrgyzstan

A competition has been launched in Kyrgyzstan aimed at identifying the cleanest populated areas in the country. This event is timed to coincide with the National Cleanliness Day and is organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Participants can submit their populated areas in the following nominations:
- "Cleanest City"
- "Cleanest Rural Area"

The Ministry has announced that certain criteria will be considered when selecting winners, including:
- Active involvement of various segments of society in the environmental campaign, including the population, volunteers, and entrepreneurs.
- The area of cleaned territory, including mountainous regions, glaciers, and public places.
- Adherence to the principles of waste separation (at least three categories).
- Transfer of collected waste for recycling, including plastic, metal, glass, and paper.
- Availability of informational materials promoting cleanliness, such as billboards and stands, especially regarding the prohibition of plastic use.
- Conducting educational activities in educational institutions and organizations.
- Implementation of local projects to improve waste management with the involvement of grants and donors.
- Mass planting of greenery with consideration for their survival rate.
- Availability of a model landfill for solid household waste, including the necessary conditions for its operation.
- Establishment or introduction of recycling enterprises in the region.

All results must be confirmed by photo and video materials, as well as documents that will be verified by Ministry of Natural Resources staff on-site.

Prizes are provided for the winners of the competition:
- For first place — a garbage truck (HOWO);
- For second place — a sorting line.
