It is important to note that without meeting these requirements, the use of electric scooters will be considered illegal.
Igor Lepekha, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, commented on the changes: “We have made a number of amendments that mainly concern the obligations of sharing companies. There will now be mandatory regulation of their operations, including the registration of electric scooters. We will develop a special sample of the registration number that will be unique for each company and easily readable. This will allow us to track who operated the scooter in case of violations, such as traffic accidents or collisions.”
In addition, administrative responsibility is introduced for allowing individuals without a driver's license or those deprived of it to operate electric scooters.
