Nurdin Oruntaev, the Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan, stated during a live broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol" on the Kabar agency that the modern multi-story buildings being constructed in the country fully comply with all safety standards.
He noted that one of the main problems facing construction is the lack of land plots. In Kyrgyzstan, the possibilities for building large areas are limited.
“With the growth of the population, every citizen has a desire to have their own housing. However, about 90% of the country's territory is occupied by mountains, which makes construction on slopes expensive. Therefore, development is predominantly carried out on flat areas. High land prices are also associated with economic growth: the more actively the economy develops, the greater the interest from investors, and accordingly, the demand for land increases,” the minister added.
Each new building is designed with all necessary safety measures in mind, including calculations for the number of residents and fire safety measures. All stages of design undergo strict verification by the urban planning council, which analyzes architectural solutions and the appearance of future buildings. Oruntaev emphasized that there were previously cases of unregulated construction, but such projects are no longer allowed, and new buildings meet modern requirements and feature an aesthetic architectural style.
The minister also outlined mandatory conditions for developers. For example, for multi-story buildings in cities, it is necessary to provide separate parking spaces for each apartment. Without meeting this requirement, a construction permit will not be issued. Similarly, five-story buildings will not receive permission if parking spaces are not provided in the basement.
In addition, Oruntaev reported that work is underway to regulate previously constructed chaotic objects.
