The Kara-Koyun Valley, located in the Talas region, continues to attract the attention of tourists and gold seekers due to its unique nature and rich history.

The Talas Territorial Representation of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision shared a video showcasing the beauty of this amazing valley.

At an altitude of 1600 meters, within the borders of the Talas and Bakai-Ata districts, Kara-Koyun is considered the central part of the Talas Ala-Too, a mountain range of the Western Tian Shan. The highest point is the summit of Dym-Bol, reaching 3839 meters, and the valley is adjacent to the Uiyur-Mural and Kara-Koyun rivers.

Kara-Koyun has its own microclimate, and there are three major caves located here. This region is home to apple trees, plums, strawberries, and other berries, as well as snow leopards, argali, and mountain rams.

Employees of the Talas representation of the Ministry of Natural Resources are confident that the valley could become a significant tourist attraction.

Shaken Kultaev, a local resident, talks about how in the past, gold seekers were often found in Kara-Koyun. “The nature here is amazing and diverse. 7-8 years ago, there were many gold seekers. During the Soviet era, local wealthy people, who were being dispossessed, would leave through the Besh-Tash gorge to Toktogul. They took their livestock and valuables with them. There are rumors that in the Kara-Koyun valley, there are caves where they hid their riches. We don’t know all the information, but all the well-off people of that time knew this valley like the back of their hand,” he recounts.
