Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov noted on social media that he only recently learned about the construction of "Altai." He emphasized that the information about the high groundwater levels in this area has been known for many years, and any construction here requires careful engineering solutions and approvals. However, the project, which includes 1,500 five-story buildings, was not approved by the Institute of Seismology.

Abdrakhmatov expressed bewilderment that such a large construction project did not receive approval from the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, especially considering the seismic hazard of the area. He cited examples of historical earthquakes, such as the 1911 Kemin earthquake, when hydraulic shocks led to unexpected consequences. "Think before building anything, people!" the scientist urged.

In recent days, photos of the construction site have appeared on social media, where the excavations have already filled with groundwater.

The "Altai" town is being built on an area of 234 hectares. The project includes 1,551 five-story residential buildings and 34,004 apartments of various layouts. The total construction area will exceed 1 million 7 thousand square meters. The construction company "Kut" is implementing the project, offering apartments with no down payment and in installments. All 34 thousand apartments were sold out in just a few days. On November 20, President Sadyr Japarov laid the capsule for the construction of the town.
