According to our correspondent Turmush, this pasture is located in the upper reaches of the village of Eki-Naryn, in the rural district of Ortok, on the way to the remote settlement of Oruk-Tam.
Eki-Bala is situated between two gorges, and a river called Malyy Naryn flows nearby.
The locals do not know the exact origin of the name of the pasture, but they shared versions from the elders who claim that the name appeared after the disappearance of two children. According to stories from the older generation, two teenagers went to this pasture and got lost, unable to find their way back. When the villagers went in search, they explained to passing travelers that they were heading to the pasture due to the disappearance of the two children ("eki bala").
Currently, there are tourist spots open at this pasture offering various services.
