Bayaman Erkinbaev, who was elected as a deputy to parliament three times in 1995, 2000, and 2005, actively participated in the public life of the country. He was the founder of the international wrestling federation "Alysh" and the president of the charitable foundation "Palvan".

According to open data, his supporters, including students from his sports schools, actively participated in protest actions both in the south of the country and in Bishkek.
