

A criminal case has been initiated in Bishkek related to corruption among officials of the city hall and leaders of contracting organizations.
According to the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), in 2015, the city hall was allocated 22 million euros for improving the material and technical base, including the purchase of special equipment such as bulldozers and garbage trucks, as well as the design of a landfill for the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" and the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Sanitary Landfill".
As a result of an audit of public procurement, the preliminary damage from the misuse of the allocated loan funds is estimated at 182 million soms.
On January 12, as part of the initiated criminal case under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on corruption, investigative actions were carried out, during which the former vice mayor of Bishkek S.R.A., the former director of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Sanitary Landfill" A.A.Z., and the leaders of contracting companies I.V.R. and A.N.B. were detained.
In accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, they were placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
