Mederbek Kydyrmaev, the chief architect of the city of Bishkek, shared information about a new tram that will operate in the city.

During his speech on the "Kabar" agency broadcast, he emphasized that many people mistakenly associate the term "tram" with outdated models that use tracks and current collectors.

"Today, modern trams are being produced. As part of the BRT project, we are introducing trackless transport. It will move along a special dedicated lane, where other types of public transport will also be able to operate," he added.

It is worth noting that the new general plan includes the construction of 28 kilometers of tram lines in the first phase. Two routes are planned - from the new stadium to the city center. These routes will run in a loop through Jibek Jolu Avenue, Shabdan Baatyr Street, Fuchik Street, and Akhunbaev Street, extending into residential areas.

In addition, Bishkek plans to implement a new type of public transport - metro buses.
