According to information provided by Trend agency, to achieve strategic sustainability, it is necessary to strengthen ties between states, diversify economic and transport routes, and develop cooperation based on common interests. This approach, as the expert emphasized, is the key to stability and sustainable development in the region.

Farid Shafiyev added that Azerbaijan's foreign policy over the past six years has been shaped with these realities in mind.

“Deepening interaction with Central Asian institutions and developing strategic partnerships have contributed to strengthening our country's eastern direction while maintaining a constructive dialogue with the USA and European allies based on mutual respect. Such a balanced approach reduces vulnerability, opens new opportunities, and creates prospects for both national and regional development,” he noted.

The expert also emphasized that the shared history and rich cultural heritage serve as an important foundation for cooperation. However, the main aspect that distinguishes current interactions is geo-economics, encompassing the fields of energy, transport, logistics, and infrastructure.

“In the context of the diminishing relevance of traditional notions of stability in Eurasia, these connections become even more significant and strategically important,” concluded Farid Shafiyev.
