According to the information from the state institution "Kyzmat," citizens of Kyrgyzstan can now easily apply for the exchange of their 2020 model passport through the "Tunduk" app.
The service is provided in standard mode, and the processing time for a new passport is 18 working days.
Applications can be submitted through the app for the following reasons:
- expiration of the passport or at the owner's request;
- changes in personal data;
- damage to the document;
- loss of the passport.
When submitting an application, users can change the transliteration of their last names, first names, and patronymics into Latin script.
According to paragraph 9 of the Regulation on the general civil passport of the 2025 model, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated August 20, 2025, No. 508, the indication of the patronymic is optional and depends on the citizen's desire. In the ID card, the patronymic must be indicated if it exists.
The service offers modern digital features. When applying for the exchange of an ID card or international passport, the following options are available:
- uploading a photo from a mobile device;
- taking a photo directly in the app;
- uploading an image taken at the Public Service Center (PSC) using a unique barcode (the photo at the PSC is free).
The photo requirements comply with international ICAO standards: the face must have a neutral expression, looking directly at the camera, a slight smile is allowed. The photo should be taken without headgear, except for scarves that do not cover the oval of the face. The photo must be in color, on a white background, sized 35×45 mm, and taken no later than six months before submitting the application.
When photographing in glasses, the frames should not cover the eyes, and the lenses should not create glare. The use of sunglasses is allowed for people with vision impairments. Clothing should be casual or business attire.
To submit an application, a valid electronic cloud signature is required, which can be verified in the personal account of the "Tunduk" app.
