The managing commission, which is overseeing the operations of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Funeral Services Agency," conducted an inspection visit to several cemeteries in the capital, where multiple violations were identified. As a result, a decision was made to carry out a complete inventory of burial sites at the southwestern cemetery.
According to the press service of the city administration, the inspection commission included Deputy Mayor Victoria Mozgacheva, as well as Bishkek City Council deputies — Taalaybek Daiyrbekov and Zhanibek Asanbekov.
Initially, the commission inspected the southwestern cemetery, which has been closed for new burials since January 1, 2021, based on the conclusions of the relevant state authorities.
During the inspection, serious deficiencies were recorded in maintaining order on the premises, accounting for burials, and organizing economic activities.
The municipal enterprise was instructed to conduct a complete inventory of burials and present proposals for improving the condition of the territory in accordance with current regulations.
Additionally, the commission visited the cemetery near the village of Orto-Sai, which is now under the city's management as a result of the administrative-territorial reform, as well as the Muslim cemetery in the residential area of "Kok-Zhar." The management of the enterprise has been tasked with strengthening control over the use of land plots, improving infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with the standards for maintaining the territories.
The purpose of the inspections is to analyze the operations of the enterprise, monitor compliance with legislation, and improve the quality of funeral services. The commission continues its activities.
