The Minister of Energy familiarized himself with projects in the Issyk-Kul region

On March 2, in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev made a working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, where he familiarized himself with the energy facilities of the region and upcoming projects planned for 2026.

At the beginning of his visit, the minister met with employees of the branch of JSC "NESC" - the Issyk-Kul Electric Networks Enterprise. During the meeting, important industry issues were discussed, and employees received answers to their pressing problems. The minister instructed to expedite the installation of "smart" meters and take measures to reduce electricity losses.

As part of improving the service at the "Bedele" checkpoint in the Kara-Sai valley and neighboring settlements, it was proposed to create the Kara-Sai Electric Networks Division under the Jeti-Oguz RES and the Oi-Tal Electric Networks Division under the Tyup RES.

There was also a need identified to provide the Jeti-Oguz and Tyup RES with specialized equipment and communication services.

After that, the minister reviewed the project for the construction of a thermal power center in Karakol, which will have a capacity of 120 MW and will connect to the electrical networks through the 110/35/10 kV "Przhevalsk" substation. It is expected that after it is put into operation, the center will fully meet the city's electricity needs.

During the visit, the minister also visited the racetrack in the village of Baktyu-Dolonot, where he discussed issues of ensuring reliable electricity supply during the SCO summit and the VI World Nomad Games.

In addition, he visited the Cholpon-Ata RES, where he familiarized himself with the capital renovation of the administrative building and promised to provide the division with the necessary specialized equipment.

During the trip, the modernization of the "Dolinka" substation was also considered. According to plans, the old transformers AT1-10 and AT2-16 MVA will be replaced with two new transformers of 40 MVA each, which will increase the total capacity of the substation to 80 MVA.

The minister also visited the energy workers' boarding house "El-Nuru," where he checked the progress of construction work. Currently, five two-story and five one-story cottages are being built there, which will accommodate 50 people.

In addition, the boarding house is completely updating its clean drinking water supply system.

The minister insisted on high-quality work performance and completion of construction by June 10, 2026.

Summarizing the trip, the minister emphasized that the development of energy infrastructure and the improvement of electricity supply reliability are key priorities. He noted that timely and quality execution of tasks will be the foundation for the stable operation of the energy sector.
