Sadyr Japarov discussed with Airbus the expansion of Kyrgyzstan's aircraft fleet

During the negotiations, issues of airport modernization and exiting the EU's "black list" were also discussed.

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, held a meeting with the President of Airbus Europe, Johan Pelissier, and the Senior Vice President of BBAM Leasing, Maurice Prendergast.

The main focus of the discussion was on expanding the country's aircraft fleet with new aircraft, as well as strengthening cooperation in civil aviation.

Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan places great importance on its partnership with Airbus. He noted that the signed agreement would be a significant step forward in the development of civil aviation, enhancing the reliability of transport services and flight safety, as well as expanding air communication.

The head of state pointed to the dynamic development of the aviation industry in the country. Currently, the modernization of airport infrastructure is underway, regional routes are being expanded, and the aviation system is being improved in accordance with international standards.

The president reminded that previously there were only four airports operating in the country, while now there are 11, and the construction of an international airport in Jalal-Abad is ongoing.

In addition, Japarov reported that Kyrgyzstan is close to completing the process of exiting the European Union's "black list" regarding aviation safety. The final audit is scheduled for this month, and the president suggested that company representatives consider the possibility of support in this direction.

Pelissier, for his part, positively assessed the reforms in Kyrgyzstan's aviation sector and noted the efforts to modernize and enhance flight safety. He expressed interest in expanding long-term cooperation both in commercial aviation and in other areas such as transport and logistics.

"We are pleased to learn that Kyrgyzstan is at the final stage of the EU audit and are ready to provide the necessary support," he noted.

Prendergast added that the aircraft being acquired by Kyrgyzstan fully comply with international standards. He also mentioned that company specialists would arrive in the country to assist Kyrgyz colleagues in mastering the operational systems and technical aspects of the new aircraft.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Japarov, Pelissier, and Prendergast confirmed their intention to continue mutually beneficial and productive cooperation.
