According to Samarbek Bolotbekov, Deputy Director of the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia," the situation with the supply of medicines to medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan is currently stable. This statement was made on the air of 24.kg.

He noted that in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health No. 1, issued on January 1, 2026, the State Enterprise centrally purchases 191 names of medicinal products (MP).

Medical institutions have the opportunity to independently purchase those medications that are not included in this list.
“Despite the fact that requests for medications were submitted with a slight delay, the procurement is being carried out on time. For the first quarter of 2026, hospitals requested 106 names of MP, contracts have already been signed for 90 of them, and deliveries have begun,” Bolotbekov added.

He also added that the procurement system has undergone changes. “We have collected requests for needs for the entire year. We are currently conducting monitoring and plan to conclude long-term contracts with manufacturers and distributors to avoid supply disruptions,” emphasized the deputy director.

To prevent a shortage of medicines at the beginning of 2026, and considering the limited capabilities of the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia" for uninterrupted supply, the Ministry of Health discussed the possibility of granting medical organizations the right to independently conduct tenders and purchase necessary drugs. This decision is expected to help address the issue.

According to data from the state procurement portal, many hospitals have already begun to independently conduct tenders for the purchase of medications.

Imports account for up to 95 percent of all medicines available in Kyrgyzstan.
