A large program for modernizing the infrastructure of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been launched in Kyrgyzstan, which includes the construction of 12 new fire and rescue stations across the country.

As clarified by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the funding for the facilities is provided from the republican budget. The new stations will consist of 1- and 2-story buildings that meet modern standards.

Previously, workers faced challenges as they had to work in old and uncomfortable premises left over from the Soviet era. The expected changes will provide rescuers with safer and more comfortable working conditions. This initiative, along with the overall policy of creating decent conditions for employees, has been actively supported by President Sadyr Japarov since 2021.

All 12 new buildings are to be put into operation by July 1, coinciding with Rescuer's Day.

Currently, there are 92 fire and rescue units operating in the country, and plans are in place to construct 5 more new stations in the near future.
