
According to the materials of the General Plan for the city of Bishkek, by 2050, approximately 410 municipal kindergartens will be constructed in the capital, which will be able to accommodate more than 101.8 thousand children.
Current Situation
Currently, there are 118 municipal and 2 departmental kindergartens operating in Bishkek, with a total capacity of 20.1 thousand places.
Regulatory Need
To calculate the required number of places in kindergartens by 2050, the following parameters were used:
- provision standard — 53 places per 1000 residents (for children aged 2–5 years with a coverage of 85%);
- accessibility principle — no more than 300 meters from residential buildings.
Lenin District: current capacity — 3.7 thousand places, regulatory need — 33.0 thousand places;
Oktyabrsky District: current capacity — 8.2 thousand places, regulatory need — 41.7 thousand places;
Pervomaisky District: current capacity — 3.1 thousand places, regulatory need — 27.1 thousand places;
Sverdlovsky District: current capacity — 5.1 thousand places, regulatory need — 22.1 thousand places;
Total for Bishkek: current capacity — 20.1 thousand places, regulatory need — 101.8 thousand places.
Planned Construction Projects
The General Plan includes the construction of new preschool institutions:
- in Lenin District — 105 facilities for 29.3 thousand places;
- in Oktyabrsky District — 120 facilities for 33.5 thousand places;
- in Pervomaisky District — 85 facilities for 23.9 thousand places;
- in Sverdlovsky District — 61 facilities for 17 thousand places.
