Among the participants was Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, the rector of Osh State University, who delivered a welcoming speech. OshSU participated as the national coordinator and leading university of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) University in Kyrgyzstan.
The agenda of the meeting included issues such as the current composition of the SCO Network University, leading (base) universities by fields of study within the SCO, the implementation of the decisions from the protocol of the meeting of the SCO Coordination Council dated April 23, 2025 (hereinafter - SCO CC), the results of filling out the monitoring for use in a unified database of agreements for the implementation of joint educational programs within the SCO, the updating of the document flow system of the bodies ensuring the activities of the SCO, the updating of the Concept of the SCO University, approved on April 18, 2024, by the protocol of the 8th Meeting of Education Ministers of SCO member states (Moscow), the structure of the official website of the SCO, and the date and location of the next meeting of the Council of Rectors of the SCO Network University.
Overall, such meetings aim to develop educational cooperation within the SCO University. This association of universities implements joint educational programs, scientific and scientific-technical projects, and prepares specialists in priority areas for economic and social development to ensure the sustainable development of states.
Leaders of universities from Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia participated in the event in a mixed format.
- It is worth noting that the last meeting of the participating universities of the CIS Network University and the SCO University took place on November 6, 2025, in Bishkek.
- Currently, the SCO Network University includes 125 participating universities from 7 countries, including 12 universities from Kyrgyzstan.
