“Everyone is engaged in private business, bringing investors to the country”
In an interview with KNAI “Kabar,” President Sadyr Japarov discussed the launch of the new “Berekett Bank,” which became possible thanks to the proposal of Changpeng Zhao — the founder of the well-known company Binance.
According to the head of state, the project represents a private enterprise that is expected to attract significant investments to Kyrgyzstan.
“Last week, news outlets reported that among the founders of ‘Berekett Bank,’ besides the former speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Marat Sultanov, is your son Nurdöölöt Nurgöjoev.
The public reacted to this news ambiguously: some believe that there is nothing wrong with it if the state is not involved, while others think that it would have been better not to involve relatives. What is the connection of the bank with your family?”[/b>
This is an important question that raises a lot of discussions, and I will try to answer it in detail, as we have nothing to hide from the people.
First of all, I have been in office for over five years and have never involved my relatives in state affairs, including my brothers. I believe that there should be only one politician in a family.
I have always told my close ones: engage in business, open new productions, and attract investors.
Thank God, they all understood and do not interfere in politics, which is noted by the public.
In the future, they also do not intend to participate in state affairs. None of them aspires to become a deputy or a minister, although they could, as elections are conducted by the people. But they do not do this.

I always remind them:
“Do not send capital abroad, but rather attract it to our country.”
If I were to list all the investors that my relatives have attracted and their projects, it would look like self-promotion. Therefore, I will refrain from this information for now.
After my presidential term ends, I will talk about the activities of my brothers and the investments they have attracted to the country. The people will see everything.
As for “Berekett Bank,” today the world is actively transitioning to virtual assets.
In May, when Changpeng Zhao visited us, he proposed the idea of creating a digital bank.
I suggested making it a state bank, but he did not want to participate in such a project.
After my initiative was not supported, we agreed to create a private bank.
I invited Marat Sultanov as an experienced banker to address organizational issues.
Changpeng Zhao and Marat Abdrzakovich suggested that Nurdöölöt also be included in the project.
After some thought, I agreed, as the state has nothing to do with this.
Let him work, gain experience, and interact with professionals. This is much better than if they interfered in state affairs — let them engage in private business.
It is important to note that Changpeng Zhao does not visit every country.
First of all, we have established friendly relations; secondly, he sees the development of Kyrgyzstan and the fight against corruption, the absence of crime, which piques his interest. Many countries have tried to invite him, unsuccessfully. His visit will bring multi-billion investments to the country through this bank. Other investors will also be among the founders, which will benefit our state and people.

Yes, it will function like an ordinary bank, but will mainly focus on virtual assets and digital currencies.
Does your son have the relevant education and experience in this field?[/b>
As I mentioned, I do not involve my children and brothers in politics. Therefore, both Rustam and Nurdöölöt have received education in economics and finance. Although he does not yet have significant experience, I am confident that he will gain it in practice. Young people quickly master new fields.
The main thing is not to worry. This initiative will benefit the people of Kyrgyzstan: incomes will be shared with the population, assistance will be provided to orphans and those in need, social facilities will be built, and so on.
