In 2025, the Ministry of Natural Resources conducted 99 raids in the waters of Issyk-Kul aimed at combating the illegal use of synthetic fishing nets. This was reported by the ministry's press service.

The results of the inspections showed that 38 fines were imposed, totaling 130,000 soms, and 107 lawsuits were filed for a total of 269,640 soms. As a result of the efforts to clean the lake, 306 synthetic nets with a total length of 30.6 km were removed.

In 2024, the number of raids conducted was 57. During these, 38 fines were also imposed for 130,000 soms, and 107 lawsuits were filed for a total of 269,640 soms. A total of 288 synthetic nets measuring 28.8 km were confiscated.

The ministry emphasized that special attention is given to detecting and removing old and abandoned nets, which cause significant harm to the aquatic ecosystem.

Additionally, in the Issyk-Kul region, within the framework of the law "On the Restriction of the Circulation of Polymer Film Bags and Plastic Products," explanatory activities were carried out, during which 950 warnings were issued to business entities.
