President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov has signed a law regarding the ratification of Additional Agreement No. 1 to the Loan Agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This agreement pertains to the project for the "Rehabilitation of Water Supply Systems in the Local Self-Government Bodies of Myrza-Ake, Don-Bulak, and Kurshab."
As a result of this document, 2.25 million euros will be allocated, of which 1.5 million euros will be received in the form of a loan, and 750 thousand euros as a grant from the Special Fund of EBRD shareholders.
This law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on September 25, 2025.
The adoption of the law is necessary to complete the internal procedures related to the entry into force of the specified agreements.
The EBRD is providing additional funds for the implementation of the project "Rehabilitation of Water Supply Systems in the Local Self-Government Bodies of Myrza-Ake, Don-Bulak, and Kurshab" in the amount of 2.25 million euros:
– 750 thousand euros in the form of a grant from the Special Fund of EBRD shareholders;
– 1.5 million euros in the form of a loan from the EBRD.
The loan provided by the EBRD has a term of 15 years, including a 3-year grace period, with an interest rate of 1.0% + Euribor (considering the floating rate).
