Checkpoint "Bedel" will reduce transit time by 12 hours - Syrgabaev

Today, a meeting of the transport ministers of Central Asia was held in Tashkent, attended by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, Abdykalyk Syrgabaev. The focus of the discussion was on issues related to the development of transport infrastructure, the formation of multimodal corridors, and strengthening cooperation between regions.

Syrgabaev noted a significant increase in cargo transportation volumes through the Kyrgyz-Chinese checkpoints "Torugart" and "Erketcham." He also emphasized the importance of constructing the third corridor through the Bedel Pass for the country.

According to the minister, the completion of work at the "Bedel" checkpoint is scheduled for 2027. The opening of the new point will ensure a constant flow of goods and reduce transit time by 12 hours.

During the meeting, the head of the ministry also discussed the implementation of an electronic permit exchange system (E-Permit) as part of digitalization, proposing to create a unified digital space for the countries of the region. In conclusion, he emphasized Kyrgyzstan's readiness to actively participate in initiatives related to transport and logistics.
