During the business forum "Central Asia + Japan," which took place in Tokyo, Kazakhstan and Japan signed over 60 agreements worth more than $3.7 billion. This was reported by Tengrinews.kz.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, noted that this forum holds significant importance for both Kazakhstan and the entire Central Asia. He emphasized that such events reflect the growing international role of the region in global processes.

The head of state also highlighted Kazakhstan's readiness to create optimal conditions for attracting investments and successfully implementing joint projects with Japan.

"Special attention should be paid to trade, economic, and investment relations. Last year, the volume of mutual trade amounted to approximately $2 billion. Kazakhstan exports uranium, rare earth metals, and oil to Japan, while Japan has become one of the key investors in the country's economy with investments exceeding $8.5 billion. Kazakhstan actively collaborates with leading Japanese corporations and supports small and medium-sized enterprises from Japan on its territory," Tokayev added.

It is worth noting that within the framework of this business forum, Kyrgyzstan also signed about 20 bilateral agreements with the Japanese side.
