In the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), a large-scale revision of the requirements for technical regulations is planned. This information was announced by the chairwoman of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus, Elena Morgunova.

Currently, the union has 52 technical regulations, 24 of which were adopted back in 2011. The long-term practice of applying these norms has revealed the need for their updating, prompted by both advancements in technology and changes in the market. As Morgunova noted, the relevance and safety of the regulations directly affect public health and the environment: "It is important for the requirements to adapt to modern risks and methods of assessing product safety, which directly impacts our lives and health," she emphasized.

In this regard, the work on technical regulation includes not only the creation of new regulations but also the revision of existing ones.

In 2025, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has already made changes to several technical regulations, including "On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles," "On the Safety of Natural Gas Prepared for Transportation and Use," as well as "On the Safety of Perfume and Cosmetic Products."

Elena Morgunova also added that the need for changes in the current technical regulations has increased recently, which requires a prompt response to changes.

"Based on this, a systematic and comprehensive review of all EAEU technical regulations is required. The assessment is planned for the period from 2025 to 2030 and will cover 29 existing regulations," she noted.
