Kyrgyzstan begins large-scale preparations for the Global Mountain Summit

Kyrgyzstan is taking its first steps in preparing for one of the most important international events of the next decade. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, signed a decree to establish an organizational committee for the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25," scheduled for 2027.

The organizational committee, headed by the Prime Minister himself, underscores the scale of the upcoming forum. It includes vice-premiers, ministers of relevant sectors, mayors of key cities, as well as the heads of the Naryn, Chui, and Issyk-Kul regions. Scientific and strategic support will be provided by the presidents of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken on the functions of the secretariat of the organizing committee. Over the next three months, ministries will be tasked with developing a detailed "roadmap" and approving an action plan. Special attention will be given to promoting the mountain agenda on the international stage, which will fall under the purview of the special representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

The "Bishkek+25" summit will be an important milestone in the global dialogue on sustainable development in mountain regions, which began in the capital of Kyrgyzstan back in 2002. The administration of the president will oversee the quality of preparations and compliance with all stages of the decree.
