From December 18 to 20, the Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Sydykov, attended the working visit of the country's president, Sadyr Japarov, to Japan. This event took place as part of the first summit of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue and a business forum dedicated to the same issue.
During the visit, an important agreement regarding the elimination of double taxation on income and measures to prevent tax evasion was signed between Bakyt Sydykov and the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Toshimitsu Motegi.
This agreement is intended to regulate tax relations between the two countries and establishes the right of each state to tax certain incomes. It also includes guarantees for the elimination of double taxation, which, in turn, creates opportunities for increasing mutual trade volumes and attracting foreign investments into the economy of Kyrgyzstan.
At the "Central Asia + Japan" business forum, Bakyt Sydykov met with the Chairman and CEO of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Ishiguro Norihiko. During the meeting, they discussed an action plan for the development of the Export Promotion and Development Center "Kyrgyz Export," which will operate in cooperation with JETRO.
This document was signed to implement the Memorandum of Cooperation between "Kyrgyz Export" and the Japanese organization, which was concluded on August 10, 2024, in Astana.
Additionally, the parties agreed to establish an intergovernmental commission on trade, economy, culture, and human resource exchange between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
