Achievements of 2025
In 2025, the construction and repair of roads with a total length of 1,606 km were completed, of which 1,545 km received asphalt surfacing. Additionally, 11 new bridges were constructed and put into operation last year.The Ministry announced the start of construction of the national significance road Barskoon - Bedel, funded from its own resources. Furthermore, to improve alternative routes around the capital, active work has begun on the construction of the six-lane Northern Bypass Road of Bishkek, and two-level transport interchanges have also been built with temporary opening for traffic.
Investment projects include the roads Suusamyr - Talas - Taraz, Korumdu - Balbai-Baatyr, Barskoon - Karakol, as well as a 748-meter tunnel on the Bishkek - Osh highway.
Financial Results of the Ministry of Transport
Last year, the Ministry earned 1 billion 167.3 million soms from the issuance of licenses and permits, measurement of weight parameters, and imposition of fines, which is three times more than in 2024.In 2025, 222,020 permits were issued from 41 countries. The implementation of the E-permit system between Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and China ensured electronic exchange of permits for international freight transport.
The process of obtaining permits is now carried out in electronic format, significantly simplifying the procedure for Kyrgyz carriers and allowing them to save money. A system for the electronic issuance of special permits for the transportation of oversized and heavy cargo has also been implemented, allowing applications to be submitted via mobile devices and received within one to three hours.
Prospects for the 2026 Construction Season
This year, the Ministry plans to launch several large-scale projects, including both repairs and construction of new roads.The following works are planned:
- reconstruction of the road "Airport "Manas" - SEZ "Bishkek" - Ala-Archa Reservoir" (11 km);
- construction of a bypass road on Profsoyuznaya Street from Kustanayskaya Street to the traffic police post (8.5 km);
- construction of roads to the new Osh market and Western bus station (8.7 km);
- capital repair of the road Osh - Sary-Tash - Irkeshtam (61 km);
- design and construction of the road to the ski base "Jyrgalan" ("Ala-Tuu Resort");
- repair of the Bishkek - Osh road (45 km);
- construction of a new four-lane road around Cholpon-Ata (14.5 km);
- asphalting of the roads Semenovka - Ak-Suu and Grigorievka - Kol - Kashka-Suu (34 km).
