The Eurasia Week, organized with the support of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2026, took place in Paris, gathering representatives from Eurasian countries and OECD members.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister Mederbek Tumanov participated in plenary sessions discussing critically important mineral resources for sustainable growth, the development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, and improving regional economic connectivity.

In his speeches, he presented key initiatives of Kyrgyzstan in the areas of sustainable and green development, responsible business conduct, digitization of trade procedures, and integration into global value chains.

Additionally, during the event, the Deputy Minister held bilateral meetings with representatives of the OECD Public Governance Directorate and with William Thompson, head of the Eurasia Division. These discussions addressed opportunities to strengthen Kyrgyzstan's cooperation with the OECD, including the implementation of joint projects in green development and the exchange of expert support, as well as harmonizing national reforms with OECD recommendations and best practices.

Issues related to the implementation of OECD standards in public governance, the use of digital solutions, and the prospects for applying artificial intelligence in this area were also raised. As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached to prepare a cooperation document and organize a workshop in Bishkek to exchange experiences and strengthen interaction between Kyrgyz government agencies and the OECD.

Participation in the OECD Eurasia Week - 2026 provided an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with partners, present the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's socio-economic development, and identify directions for further interaction with the OECD.
