According to the administration of the Naryn region, in 2025, 876.3 kilograms of gold were extracted from the Buchuk site of the Solton-Sary deposit, which is confirmed by official data.

The gold extraction plant at this deposit began its operations in October 2024 in test mode. It is capable of processing up to 600,000 tons of ore per year, producing about 1.8 tons of gold. Investments in the project amount to approximately 12 billion soms.

Solton-Sary is a gold ore deposit located 355 kilometers from the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, on the northern slope of the Kapka-Tash ridge. It includes three sites: Buchuk, Ak-Tash, and Altyn-Tor, the latter of which is being developed by JSC "Kyrgyzaltyn".

The total estimated gold reserves at this deposit are about 20 tons.

The rights to develop the Buchuk site were acquired by Zhong Ji Mining in 2009. Since 2011, local residents have protested against the development of the deposit, fearing negative impacts on the ecology and possible melting of glaciers. As a result, in 2019, the company suspended construction work, but it was later resumed.
