According to information from the press service of OJSC "Chakan HPP", a contract has been signed with China National Heavy Machinery Corporation for the reconstruction of the Lebedinovskaya HPP.
Currently, specialists are beginning to prepare the design and estimate documentation for the upcoming work.
The planned activities include updating equipment, increasing productivity, and extending the operational life of the station. The implementation of the project is expected to lead to the following results:

The Lebedinovskaya HPP is one of the oldest operating hydropower plants in the Chui region. Construction began in May 1942, and the main volume of work took place during the cold winter months. More than 7,000 women and children worked manually, digging frozen ground and pumping out up to 200 cubic meters of groundwater daily to maintain the foundation.
The construction was completed in 1 year and 2 weeks. In 1943, Frunze (now Bishkek) began receiving the necessary electricity, which allowed the launch of evacuated factories that supplied the front.
