From February 28 to March 2, 2026, significant events took place at Lake Son-Kul aimed at combating poaching. According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the raid was organized by employees of the state enterprise "Son-Kul Fishery".
Inspectors conducted checks both in the water area of the lake and in the adjacent coastal zones. During the three-day raid, not a single case of poaching was recorded, and no abandoned synthetic nets, which pose a danger to the ecosystem of the water body, were found.
The Department of Fisheries notes that the absence of violations indicates an increased sense of responsibility among fishermen and the effectiveness of protective measures. At the same time, the agency urges citizens to comply with legislative norms and actively participate in the fight against illegal fishing to preserve the unique nature of the lake.
Regular raids are conducted across the country to protect fish resources and maintain ecological balance.
