This project is of key importance for the south of the country. Although the issue of construction has been discussed for many years, real actions for its implementation have only just begun. The creation of the new reservoir will solve the problem of insufficient irrigation water and will contribute to the development of agriculture in border areas.
According to the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Aigul Akhmedova, the launch of the reservoir will allow for the involvement of 5 to 6 thousand hectares of new land into agricultural circulation. Additionally, the project will create opportunities for related industries, including the construction of a cascade of small hydroelectric power stations and the development of modern fish farming.
Erlis Akunbekov instructed the relevant state agencies to expedite the completion of all necessary expert assessments and organizational processes. The minister emphasized that delays are unacceptable, as the construction of the reservoir has a direct impact on the living standards of farmers and the food security of the region. The agencies have been tasked with completing preparatory work as soon as possible and starting construction.
