For the first time in its history, the European Union did not import petroleum products from Russia in January 2026. This data was presented by Eurostat, which has been publishing trade information since 1999.

Against this backdrop, Saudi Arabia, the USA, the UK, India, and Singapore have become the main suppliers of petroleum products to the EU.

It is worth noting that in December 2025, imports from the Russian Federation amounted to 22.3 million dollars. For the entire year of 2025, the volume of imported petroleum products from Russia to the European Union reached 166.8 million euros, which is almost half of what it was in 2024.

As a result, by the end of January 2026, the main suppliers of petroleum products to the European Union are Saudi Arabia (877.5 million euros), the USA (725 million euros), the UK (346.7 million euros), India (263.4 million euros), and Singapore (216.2 million euros).
