According to Maksutov, the cable cars are being built by the Austrian company Doppelmayr. "In 2025, we signed a contract for the construction of two cable cars with a total length of 4 kilometers. They will complete work on two of them by May of this year. Additionally, a month ago, another deal was signed to begin the construction of four more cable routes. Other infrastructure, such as roads, electricity, water supply systems, and treatment facilities, will be constructed by the relevant ministries of Kyrgyzstan," he added.
Maksutov also noted that the second phase of the auction for the sale of OJSC "Ala-Tuu Resort" properties opens doors for both local and foreign investors. "Everyone interested has equal conditions. However, for domestic investors, we are transferring land into private ownership, providing what is called a red book, while foreigners will receive plots on a 49-year lease. The auction will be held online, and the entire procedure will be transparent," he stated.
During the first phase of the auction, 14 lots were sold, after which construction work immediately began. Currently, foundations have been dug for several hotels. Work has been suspended for the winter and will resume in April.
The "Ala-Tuu Resort" project is an ambitious state initiative aimed at creating the largest ski cluster in Central Asia. It includes three key zones: "Jyrgalan," "Ak-Bulak," and "Boz-Uchuk" in the Issyk-Kul region.
The total length of the ski slopes will be about 250 kilometers, and the resort will be able to accommodate up to 2 million tourists annually, creating more than 4,600 jobs. In the first phase, taking place in Jyrgalan, 1,624 hectares have been prepared for resort infrastructure, including slopes, cable cars, a substation, and engineering networks.
