Today, November 20, President Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with the Secretary General of the CSTO, Imangali Tasmagambetov. During the discussion of key issues, the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the organization, the current state of security in the region, and the development of cooperation in combating modern threats were addressed. One of the topics was the upcoming meeting of the Collective Security Council, which will take place in Bishkek.
Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of Kyrgyzstan's participation in the CSTO as one of the main directions of foreign policy, highlighting its contribution to strengthening the collective security system.
The CSTO Secretary General, in turn, positively assessed the work of the Kyrgyz Republic as chair, noting the successful implementation of planned activities.
He also emphasized the significance of the International Conference on Cybersecurity, held at the initiative of Kyrgyzstan, which significantly strengthened the collective efforts of states in countering modern challenges.
In addition, the Secretary General confirmed that preparations for the meeting of the Collective Security Council in Bishkek are proceeding as planned and at a high level of organization.
At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Japarov awarded Imangali Tasmagambetov the Order of "Dostuk" in recognition of his contribution to strengthening security and friendship between states.
