More than 500 accused have already voted in detention centers - GSIN

In the State Service for the Execution of Sentences (GSIN), it was reported that voting is actively taking place in detention centers during the early parliamentary elections. Conditions for exercising voting rights have been created for both the accused and the staff of the institutions in all regions.

According to information from GSIN, remote voting stations have been organized in each territorial detention center. This allows both detainees and staff to vote at their place of registration on equal terms. Representatives of government bodies are monitoring the transparency of the procedure.

In particular, in institution No. 21 (SIZO-1), efforts have been organized to ensure participation in the elections at a high level. Here, remote voting station No. 9112 is functioning, where all necessary conditions for voting have been created for both inmates and staff who are on duty in an enhanced mode.

Monitoring compliance with the law and the requirements of the electoral process is carried out by representatives of the prosecutor's office and two representatives of the Ombudsman Institute. They ensure that voting is conducted in strict accordance with established rules and that each voter can freely express their opinion.

To date, more than 150 staff members and over 500 accused have already made their choice. Order, security, and compliance with the voting regulations are maintained in the institutions.

GSIN emphasizes that ensuring the constitutional rights of all participants in the elections is a priority, and work in this direction continues in all subordinate institutions across the country.
