Ministry of Internal Affairs: Suspect detained for calls to mass riots

The criminal case related to mass riots is currently under investigation by the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. It has been initiated under Article 278 of the country's Criminal Code.


According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, some citizens in Bishkek held meetings to express their disagreement with the current state policy and attempted to organize mass riots through agitation.

As part of the investigation, a citizen named J.M., born in 1971, was detained. Search operations conducted at his residence and in his vehicle, a "Toyota 4Runner," led to the seizure of numerous items, including documents in the name of J.M., five mobile phones of various brands, a micro-SIM card, foreign license plates, two notebooks with entries, as well as a folder containing 14 sheets with the inscription "Ashara Hidast," 68 books in Arabic, a box of books in the same language, and two "INE" brand radios.

After investigative activities, J.M. was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs.

On December 13, 2025, he was charged under part 1 of Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. On the same day, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek decided to keep the accused in custody until January 5, 2026.
