In Kyrgyzstan, the introduction of electronic educational materials in schools is being considered
At a seminar organized with the participation of Kyrgyz-Korean representatives, there was significant interest from the Ministry of Education, the "Okuu Kitabi" publishing house, and education experts. Representatives of the Korean Ministry of Education shared their experience of successful digitalization of the educational system in the Republic of Korea.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Lira Samykbaeva, emphasized that the ongoing educational reform in the country aims at a comprehensive update of educational materials, textbooks, and the teacher training system. The experience of Korea, where these processes are implemented consistently and effectively, is of great value to Kyrgyzstan.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Kim Kwang-dae, announced that next year, twenty Kyrgyz teachers will be able to undergo professional development in Korea, where they will familiarize themselves with the features of the Korean education system.
“I am glad that we can contribute to the education reform in your country. I hope for further expansion of our cooperation,” he noted in an interview with vb.kg.
The Director of the state institution "Publishing House 'Okuu Kitabi'" Tolegen Amatov emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences with Korean colleagues to implement modern standards in 12-year education. He noted that Kyrgyz textbooks should meet both domestic and international standards. “We strive to adapt the Korean experience to our educational system to align with global trends,” he added.
In his opinion, Kyrgyzstan should take into account its own ideological directions and standards while borrowing the best practices from international experience.
“In Korea, the digitalization of textbooks is actively being implemented, and it is important for us to adopt their experience not only in this area but also in publishing,” noted the chief specialist of the school education department of the Ministry of Education, Janara Dootalieva.
She also shared that in Kyrgyzstan, the publication of textbooks in mathematics and natural sciences for the first, second, fifth, and seventh grades has begun, and this work is planned to continue next year.
“Cooperation in the area of teacher professional development in STEM is also very important for us,” added Janara Dootalieva. She reported that Kyrgyz specialists have already visited Korea, where they studied the learning process using digital textbooks, and plan to use the acquired experience in their work. In the future, it may be possible to involve Korean specialists for the examination of textbooks, which is very important, especially in light of the work on publishing textbooks according to international standards.
The seminar, which discussed six topics, concluded with a panel discussion where participants agreed to expand cooperation and develop joint projects for the future.
