The president gave an example from personal experience, explaining the necessity of 12 years of education

At the IV People's Kurultai, President Sadyr Japarov responded to the proposal of delegate Estebes Mamatov to abolish 12 years of schooling. Mamatov is concerned that sometimes up to 50 students are taught in a class. The president noted that this situation is not a result of education reform, but is related to active migration both within the country and beyond its borders. The problem is most acute in Bishkek, Osh, and Manas.
Japarov also emphasized that parents strive to send their children to certain schools, most often Russian-speaking ones, believing them to be of higher quality. The head of state highlighted that he has instructed to ensure equal conditions for all educational institutions so that the quality of education does not depend on geographical location.
Moreover, he pointed out the problem of staff shortages in the fields of education and medicine, which is due to low salaries, but noted that the situation is gradually beginning to improve.
The president confirmed that Kyrgyzstan will definitely transition to the 12-year education standard, as it meets international requirements. Graduates who have completed 12 grades will have the opportunity to enroll in foreign universities without the need for additional preparation.
As an example, Japarov shared his personal experience: in 2013, when his family was living in Europe, his child was unable to enroll in Warsaw University after the 11th grade, as an additional year of study under the 12-year program was required.
“If I hadn't faced this myself, I wouldn't have known. Therefore, when I came to power, I immediately instructed to transition to 12 years of education,” the president added.
