According to information received from the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jalal-Abad region, the incident occurred on January 5, 2026, when the Bazar-Korgon District Internal Affairs Department received a report that serviceman A.A., born in 2007, while on guard duty, shot himself and died.
In this case, the investigative service of the Bazar-Korgon District Internal Affairs Department registered materials in the electronic journal and began a preliminary investigation. During the investigation, an examination of the scene was conducted, resulting in the seizure of a loaded firearm and two spent cartridges. A forensic medical examination has been appointed.
On January 6, 2026, the collected materials were transferred to the Military Prosecutor's Office, according to data from the regional police.

As reported by the press service of the GPS, on January 5, an incident occurred at correctional facility No. 10, located in the village of Bai-Munduz in the Bazar-Korgon district of the Jalal-Abad region. Serviceman A.A.N., also born in 2007, served in the 5th Guard Battalion of the Department of Protection and Escort of the GPS.
According to preliminary data, the tragedy occurred on January 5 at around 15:25 at the guard post, where the serviceman, for unknown reasons, shot himself and died on the spot.
The Deputy Chairman of the GPS — Head of the Department of Protection and Escort, Colonel Kurmanbek Sokeev, as well as heads of relevant services arrived at the scene to coordinate investigative activities.
In addition, representatives of the Bazar-Korgon District Internal Affairs Department and the military prosecutor's office of the Jalal-Abad garrison were involved in the work. The investigation is currently ongoing, and necessary materials are being collected.
The deceased serviceman, according to preliminary information, is from the village of Kozhomkul (formerly Voenno-Antonovka) in the Sokuluk district of the Chui region.

To ensure the employment of convicts, 12 production sites were created. The workshops in the colony operate as a state enterprise "Kelechek" under the Penitentiary Service.
This correctional colony occupies an area of 13 hectares and is designed for 1,250 places, of which 1,000 are intended for general regime convicts, and 250 for strict regime.
The land for the construction of the colony was allocated on 13 hectares, located 25 km from the city of Jalal-Abad.
A military camp for the 5th battalion of the Protection and Escort Service was also built.
The new battalion is located 38 km from the city of Jalal-Abad, 6 km from the village of Bai-Munduz.
Previously, the Penitentiary Service was part of the Ministry of Justice, but recently it became an independent agency — now it is the State Penitentiary Service under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
